A quiet day???

HAYDOCK 1.40 ... MAYOMAN @ 9/1

Mayoman 's was giving Nomoreblondes a Stone last time they met and has got a 19lb pull (including jockeys claim) from their last encounter @ York so sits below him in the handicap and receives weight from all the other runners too.
He also has a 9lb pull with OldJoeSaid from their Thirsk encounter for a couple of length deficit on good/soft going.
Mayoman had excuses last 2 efforts, rider lost stirrup iron, hampered behind Pelmanism, soft going possibly didn't suit before those runs.
Back on a more sound surface and back at 5fl, where he has 4 wins and 2 placed runs from 15, we should see a better show especially as he carries no weight here (8Stone 4lb)
With the exception of Beauty Pageant (concedes 3lb to Nomoreblondes)  he has possibly the best strike rate at the distance too.

HAYDOCK 2.10 ... PELMANISM @ 3/1

Pelmanism finished in front of Mayoman last run here at Haydock so a good run from Mayoman would boost the form of Pelmanism in the 2.10 contest on todays card and i reckon these 2 should also be paired in a small double.

Double also landed @ 40/1

BRIGHTON 5.20 ... YURTUNI @ 9/2

Yurituni's run behind (the 89 rated) Drawnfromthepast in a class3 contest at Bath in July was ran in a much faster time than the class6 Interact and the class5 Delira both ran in there the same month.
OK she has to give these rivals weight dropping in grade, but surely is the classiest Filly in this field!

York

York 2.30 ... Parlour Games @ 12/1 Waltz Darling E/W @ 40/1

Parlour Games best efforts having come with soft in the going description so todays good ground should suit.
Although Ahmed Ajtebi has 2 wins and a decent 2nd place effort from 6 rides on this Colt, Frankie Dettori up for the 1st time today, who has ridden 7 winners with around a 50% strike rate for the yard in the last 3 weeks alone.
Parlour Games  steps up in class and distance off 3lb higher than his last time out win, but is progressing the right way and has a few of these held on form from latest win. Frankie has the chance of a double for the yard with his ride on Opinion Pole, who himself bids to emulate his win in the 3.05.
Waltz Darling off a low weight of 8 stone could defy his tasty odds. He ran 3rd to the 8 length Great Voltigeur Group2 Stakes winner Sea Moon on his run here in June over 4fl shorter. The step up in trip could suit the Fahey runner under Paul Hanagan who shouldn't be readily dismissed @ 40/1

York 3.05 ... Opinion Pole @ 7/2

Opinion Pole has won 6 and placed 4 times from his 13 runs, with over 45% winning strike rate. Frankie who has ridden 7 winners with around a 50% strike rate for the yard in the last 3 weeks alone, takes his 7th ride on Opinion Pole having won on 4 of the 6 previous occasions he's ridden this horse, and bids to emulate his win in the 3.05 having won the event last season for Michael Jarvis.

Such A Shame

SOUTHWELL 4.50 ... RESPLENDANT NOVA 2 Pts @ 5/1 Gen
Even though Fulford looks to have improved on last seasons efforts he is stepping up in grade here and has to be taken on in my book and looks no value!
Resplendant Nova has Daryll Holland up for the 1st time on this gelding who is only having it's 3rd run at Southwell.
Last 2 were off a higher mark (OR81) when beaten both times around 3 length last winter by Mark Johnson's Nightjar (now rated 95 and switched yards to Kevin Ryan).
Last 10 runs have all been at Kempton where he has been held up out the back or slowly away so we may know our fate early, but Holland a good man to have on your side if a front running ride is the plan, and a return to this left handed track should suit and could be the deciding factor on only his 2nd ever run in a Class6 h/cap.
Regular jockey Jimmy Quinn is on stablemate Guilenstern having won on him last time out, but wether he can live with the previous class Resplendant Nova had receiving 5lb has to be doubtful and I believe the value is in the selection, who is now off 19lb lower in the ratings (in this 0-65 contest) than when last winning a (75-90) Class 4 7fl Handicap.

SOUTHWELL 4.20 ... HITS ONLY JUDE @ 4/1 Gen
Has 3 wins and 5 second places here from 10 runs at the track.
Won this in 2008 off 7lb lower and although beaten around 3 lengths last time out, the form isnt too bad as the 3rd place was running off 78 and the 4th place horse Flores Sea winning a seller on his next start by 3.7 length to Obe Gold with the 3rd horse another 8 length adrift.
Even the 6th place Gaily Noble had won his previous outing off 77.
Last 5 runs all over 7 or 8fl and the drop back to 6fl and down in class should be in his favour.
Not an outstanding price @ 4/1 currently on offer but may have a 1 Pt double on these 2 selections.

After doing the early work and having smaller stakes on the double ... it's A Shame I only put Resplendant Nova up as today's main bet!
