FRIDAY'S SELECTION'S

Ascot 5:15 ... Shannon Springs ....... Industry odds @ 15/2

Barnhill Brownie looks all the rage in the betting and though the form was franked with Theatrical Moment (off 114) winning yesterday he was beating lesser rated rivals.
Shannon Springs is one who looks ground dependant, and a line through (Kim Muir winner) Character Building where he had Gala Evening behind should on revised ratings/weights give him the upper hand of Dont Tell The Wife & Cathedral Rock respectively.
He had excuses in defeat before that (saddle slipped/hampered) and soft going didn't suit since in 2 of his last 3.
Edward Cookson worth his 5lb claim and has ridden 2 winners and a 2nd for the yard from 6 rides this month.
If the going has been the issue then in the context of this race a much improved showing is highly likely!

Tora Bora E/W @ 50/1

Tora Bora finished 2nd here his 1st ever visit to Ascot and was raised 20lb for that effort.
His very next outing when contesting the Bgc Silver Cup (Listed) here 16 month back he wasnt disgraced where Vodka Bleu won getting 20lb from (the 151 rated) Madison Du Berlais, and he is now running off 15lb lower today.
Won here in November gone off 7lb lower by 8 length and had Philip Hobbs (127 rated) Fairoak Lad a good 26 length in arrears. And though the stable going through a lean spell this better going should suit this gelding and the odds on offer are worth an E/W punt!!
