PLUMPTON 3.30 ... GLENGARRA @ 16/1

Glengarra is getting on at 12Yrs Old but there is still life in the gelding yet if his last 2 runs here are taken at face value. He made a mistake when making his challenge over 3fl further last time on heavy going and lost his chance, and had Plumpton specialist The Hardy Boy beaten on his 1st ever visit here on his penultimate start (again over 20fl) until a mistake at the last cost him the race.
This race is a little stronger but the drop in trip a positive move having gained all 3 wins at around this distance off marks 10lb, 20lb and latterly in a Class3 Cheltenham H/cap off 33lb higher than today, and would look thrown in if running anywhere near the level of that success as he relished the uphill finish and accounted for some rivals rated around the 120 mark and plus.
Sean Quinlan a capable apprentice claims a handy 3lb off what already looks a nice racing weight of 10St, essentially meaning he gets at least 14lb from his nearest rival and 28lb from the those at the head of the weights.

A line through the form of Paquet Cadeau getting 2lb from Sebastiano and giving him a 26 length beating in December, and Paquet Cadeau giving Glengarra 16lb and a 13 length beating in November, would on my ratings give Glengarra a good Stone in hand of Sebastiano at the revised weights/ratings.

Barring accidents he should be bang there at the finish and looks attractively priced and good value @ 16/1.......

American World could also improve on only his 3rd chase outing, especially if he settles better than last time out here, and would be my choice for a small stakes reverse F/C!

Glengarra went off too fast in my opinion and tried to keep pace with front runner Colliers Court and paid the price to finish 5th
