WINCANTON 4.30 ... FREE GIFT @ 12/1
Robert Alner's Gelding was 2nd in this event 2 Years back off 11lb higher.
That was on the same card/day current favourite Ice Bucket, was 2nd in a Novices event ran at a slightly slower time, and he is now running off 4lb higher.
The biggest danger in my book is Nation State who is also dropping down the H/cap and will take him for a small rev F/C

SOUTHWELL 3.55 ... ROYAL DIGNITARY @ 8/1 Industry odds ...11.5 Betfair
David Nicholl's appears to have his string in good order for their respective returns and saddles 2 here. He is a master at working the oracle with other yards cast offs but failed to get a win last season from the Ex Mark Johnson's, White Deer.
He is now back on a winable mark having dropped 20lb since his peak and is racing 9lb below his last win.
Stablemate and top weight Royal Dignitary however is the choice for what looks a competitive event. He is racing from a similar draw as his last winning visit here, where he and the odds on favourite (2nd) were 5 lengths clear of the field.
Most of his winning last season was in claimers/sellers yet his 1 & 1/4 length 2nd to Abbondanza (won yesterday's Class 2 Lingfield H/cap off 99) at Musselburgh reads well in the context of this.
Smarty Socks or new Stablemate Indian Diva (won a fillies h/cap here in good style) could be the ones for the F/C.

SOUTHWELL 2.00 ... HIPPODROME Industry odds @ 33/1 OR Betfair @ 45/1 WIN ... 11.5 to Place
On his 4th trainer in as many years yet was racing off a rating of 96 for Aidan O'Brien as a 3Yr Old. Ran in a couple of Listed flat races when 1st coming to England, and a spell over the sticks failed to get a win and although well beaten, did run in the Anglo Irish Bank Grade2 over jumps.
His 12 length 5th behind County Hurdle contender Nortonthorpe Lad his recent best in that sphere. Has been highly tried in his carreer in both disciplines and the H/capper has given him a real chance to show if the class he was thought to have can show through.
This is more his distance and is racing off 15lb lower than last outing over a trip too far and the industry odds of 33/1 are a steal IF he puts it all in!!!
