NEWCASTLE 8.55 ... INGLEBY ARCH @ 12/1 Skybet 11/1 Elsewhere
This was a selection back in May at Haydock when over 3 length clear of the field (Steel Blue 17 length further behind and only 4lb better) but beaten by the improving Eton Rifles who got the run of the race.
Lost his chance last time out when unable to remove the blinds at the start, and on his penultimate run in a small field on fast going has never found those run to suit as his best efforts all in double figure fields.
Drops into this grade for only the 2nd time since his 2Yr Old days, where he beat Charles Parnell 1.25 length on equal terms at Southwell last November.
Ran 3 previous times here, the first off 23lb higher than today as the only 3 Yr Old taking on his elders won by Indian Trail (runs in the earlier Class2 race at 7.25).
The next twice were off marks of 88 and 85 last summer in a class3 then a class2 respectively when not beaten far.
A lot of rain has fallen in Newcastle this morning and the going will be a lot slower than yesterday where 5 of the 7 races were run in times slower than standard.
The stands rail looks to hold the advantage with the high drawn runners getting the upper hand yesterday, and though he can get behind early, with a clear run should pick these off in the closing stages.
