Couldn't hit a Barn Door with a tractor!!

Well that's the way it feels at the moment!

Esteem Machine looked to trip a furlong after leaving the gates and was never travelling thereafter.
Eddie Ahern eased him down around 2 furlongs from the line to allow him to come home in his own time where he was reported to be lame.

A 2 point loss for the account and the second time Esteem Machine has cost us. He was spotted at the right time from a handicap perspective, but has been the bain of bad luck for NoseAhead making it a 4 point deficit in total on this horse alone.

On a day where around 30 runners in total didn't take up their intended engagements at Doncaster, Spifire turned out to be a non runner and the way things have been going it could be the 1 point returned was meant for another day!

  1. Dont worry bud, i had a woeful three weeks, with only hitting a biggie each saturday getting me out of the deep stuff.

As long as people understand that at these prices, losing runs can and will crop up, at these prices however one "hit" and its Bingo again you're in front. Last Saturday for me was a prime example, had not hit anything in two midweeks, but good prices on the saturdays begated all drops during the weekdays.

Chin up, Whot Whot and all that. All will be good.

  2. Hi Mark, Yes I looked by your way and did notice :0
Like yourself I understand the ups and downs of looking for the value selections, and Esteem machine was a prime example of one that has gotten away as it were with 2 shocking runs, which are part of the bad luck stories of this game!
It sure is frustrating at times when that happens but its now in the past and Soldier On we must ;)
