WEDNESDAY'S SELECTION'S

AYR 2.50 ... JEWELLED DAGGER @ 7/2 Generally

A lot of those at the head of the market all appear to have form lines with Sunnyside Tom, and Champain Sands franked the form by winning lately but he only beat 70 to 73 rated rivals at best.
Mark Johnson has a good idea of the abilities of former inmate Al Wasef with his runner My Gacho, and he looks to have improved with the step up to 7fl on the All Weather but has to translate that back to turf and often just got the 6fl when sprinting.
Jewelled Dagger is the one who gets my support as his 1.5 length 2nd place to (97 rated) Laa Rayb this time last season reads well in the context of this.
Laa Rayb, also from the Johnson stable, went on to win the 7fl Totesport International off 104 only 3 runs later and has since won a Group3 in France.
That was over a mile, where Jewelled Dagger has gained all success so far, but often leads to this trip before fading near the 8th furlong.
Often takes a keen hold so a tactical race may not suit, so a chance to trade in running could be an option, but given a true run race his class should see him in front.

AYR 3.50 CUTE ASS @ 13/2 S.James B.O.G. Generally

Cute Ass hasn't a particular good win record and is taking on the opposite sex here returning from a break, but has been highly tried and she can go well fresh.
This filly was given a rating of 105 when chasing home Captain Gerrard in the (Group 3) Cornwallis Stakes and wasn't disgraced behind Peace Offering off the same mark in a Stakes contest last July with others rated 95 to 110 in behind.
Martin Lane takes off another 5lb to lessen the burden and meets nothing of that calibre here.
She races here off 90 today so in theory is well h/capped in this lesser grade than she normally contests.
Stable and Jockey in good form and working on around 18-20% strike rate when teaming up.

One to Watch.......

AYR 3.20 ... MILTON OF CAMPSIE @ 16/1
Won her maiden Stakes contest by 1.25 length and thought good enough to try her hand in the Irish 1,000 Guineas last year with possibly an eye on a place at best in reality, but those just in front of her have went on to greater than this contest running to marks of 110 plus.
That was the only other time she has ran on going with firm in the description and perhaps the All Weather tracks not her game.
Thomas White yet to ride a winner this season but around 25% of the stables runners have been placed so she could be worth an E/W interest @ 16/1 if all 8 runners stand their ground, Or a place only on the exchanges @ around 4/1.

Any Evening Races Update around 6.00p.m.
