Ones to Watch.......
RIPON 3.30 WIND SHUFFLE / KINGSDALE ORION
Front runner Wind Shuffle could be the one for some E/W value in this race as he will handle the conditions and could get an easy time of it up front if allowed to dictate from the off.
Kingsdale Orion won a 0-100 Class2 Newcastle handicap off 6lb higher on soft going last season and followed up with a win there last month when getting his favoured ground.
With the defection of 4 of the intended runners the field is down to 8 and @ 4/1 doesn't represent a lot of value and I would make that the minimum price if choosing to get involved but am prepared to sit this one out for win purposes!
RIPON 4.35 ILIE NASTASE / NEVADA DESERT
David Nicholl's gelding Ilie Nastase looks the better of his remaining 2 entries.
Had form on soft going in France and blinkers now retried having won in them in the past.
Never got the best of runs here his last visit when making his move up the rails and had to switch wide. Was totally outclassed last time in a Listed event against horses rated 100 plus when losing his good draw at Chester after being held up.
Looks to need plenty driving and Jamie Moriarty will have his work cut out from the start.
Nevada Desert has some good runs on soft going and having won off 12lb higher this time last season is another on a winning mark, and could be the one for the E/W value if running up to his best!
HAYDOCK 8.40 PRINCESS RAINBOW / MUDAWIN
Princess Rainbow looked to be wanting a step up in trip, and being relatively unexposed could improve enough to take this after only 6 starts on grass.
She won her maiden here on heavy going, beating Dolly Penrose' conqueror (Bazically) by a good 4 lengths, and has been second the other twice she has ran on going with soft in the description.
Since joining James Moffatt, Mudawin has dropped 12lb in the handicap in it's last 3 runs and has been getting closer to the front on each occasion.
Won the Ebor off 18lb higher so is becoming dangerously well handicapped and his ability to handle conditions a plus. Has an 8lb pull with both Hawridge King for as many lengths, and Dolly Penrose for nearly the same from their last encounters.
Another race where only 6 of the intended 10 runners, so far, go to post and another to watch!
