2 Points to Play

LINGFIELD 4.00 ... CORNUS @ 20/1 Betfred. V.C. ... PHA MAI BLUE @ 4/1 Gen

With only 9lb between the top 10 in the field this looks quite a tight contest.
On recent form Pha Mai Blue looks the one to be with.
Never got a clear run on his penultimate outing and just failed by 1/2 length (3rd) in a stronger race last time and runs off the same mark here.
Normally runs his best races this time of year and last win off 5lb higher in a Class4 here.
Problem is that was run 2.5 seconds slower than standard round here and 4/1 would be the minimum price I would take in this field.

Cornus could be the one to have sneaked in under the radar.
James Doyle been in the plate for last 5 wins and back on a winning mark where he could run up a sequence if the move back to former stable rejuvenates him.
Returns to Lingfield, the scene of his last A/W success on his first run back for Alan McCabe.
That last win here off 16lb higher (albeit @ 6 furlongs) but his previous All Weather win was over 7fl at Wolvs so does stay and this looks weaker than those contests.
Last 4 A/W runs all at Southwell for Jeremy Glover where he has failed to get even a place since he left this yard last summer off 20lb higher.
Has run 7 times here at 7fl off marks 16lb to 25lb higher than today in the past, beaten 1.5 to 5 length at most in Class2 Class4 and Class5 contests so looking attractively handicapped returned to Class6 on his lowest ever mark in the past 5 Years.
Should Cornus run to his potential I see him winning this, but if not then I have Pha Mai Blue the most likely winner on recent form.

Cornus 1.5 Pt win @ 20/1
Pha Mai Blue 0.5 Pt win @ 4/1
