FRIDAY'S SELECTION

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.50 ... NORTHERN DARE @ 10/1
Another from the Nicholl's stable who ran well 1st time up last season finishing 3rd to (the 106 rated) Snaefell in a strong Curragh H/cap.
Ran in Class 2 & Class 3 h/caps off marks in the high 80's low 90's the rest of the season and returns here in this lower grade, his 1st run on this surface.
At the current 10/1 on offer a 1 point wager

plus 10 points

LINGFIELD 3.40 … OBE GOLD @ 100/30
Dandy Nichol’s gelding returned to action last week with a runnning on 2nd to Arganil who was on the end of a hatrick of wins after a winter break. He had last time out winner (86 rated) Rebel Duke 1 & 3/4 length in 3rd and will be better for that outing.
He runs off the same mark here and the going today will suit Obe Gold better than Southwell’s fibresand, as most his wins have been on quicker going, and over this 6fl trip.
Has been 2nd place all 3 All Weather outing so far, yet was running off 19lb higher than today on his only ever previous run here, when chasing home Gimasha (rated 89) giving her 10lb with subsequent Nunthorpe and Stewards Cup winner (92 rated) Borderlescott (now off 116) behind giving him 11lb.
Should be way above these in terms of Class and ability and should take this before going on to better things during the summer.
The 100/30 should be taken as I can’t see it lasting long!!

plus 3.33 points

Update 13.59 PM

LINGFIELD 4.15 ... RUFF DIAMOND @ 9/2 ....... BASRA f/c
Ruff Diamond could be a blot on the H/cap here. He chased home Paco Boy in the Spring Cup here last March when with John Best and was highly tried on numerous occasions afterward.
Has had a brief spell over Hurdles winning his 1st Two and a respectable 3rd in the Weatherbys Bank (Listed) before joining current yard and wasnt far away last time here off this mark off a slow pace. He had Can Can Star a 2 times winner previous behind in 4th and he ran well in a Class3 stakes race yesterday.
Ignoring his last time out run over hurdles in the Fred Winter on good/soft ground he could still be well treated in this discipline and a 1 point wager looks worthy.
Basra looks the danger and will suggest a 1/2 point reverse F/C.

minus 2 points
