Obe Gold won as expected by 2 & 1/2 length, given a canny ride by stable jockey and son of owner/trainer Dandy Nicholls.
With the exception of the 2nd place Divinsky who came in a point, the market was pretty static and the 100/30 was available even to the off, and Obe Gold was available @ 4/1 at one point.
Ruff Diamond's race was a farce in my opinion, as in the 1st 2furlongs they went an absolute crawl until Old romney decided to increase the pace and went off in front and got a good lead. The field chased along and decided to get involved after the 4fl pole and it ended up more like a 6fl sprint.
In races like this the form shouldn't be taken at face value, and was a bad result after a good start!
A total of 1.33 point profit is, at the end of the day, better than a loss!
Check for evening update!
Northern Dare was gambled in to 4/1 from our advised early 10/1 and duly obliged!
