At first glance at the cards for today's races nothing stood out, (except 2 selections we didn't post, or Bet on!!) and after much delving into the form of the 3.45 Haydock, the chosen selection was eventually declared a non-runner after 7 of the intended 12 field dropped out throughout the morning, upon arriving at the track to find good/firm ground.
Clerk of the course "Tellwright" should do just that, as he told it wrong and the declared good/soft going was the cause of much debate among trainers, who had been led to believe the going was as advertised and resulted in wasted fuel and many disappointed owners. The 1 point win was returned, but a 1/2 point loss on the intended F/C was incurred.
Bangor also suffered 3 non-runners in our other selected race, just a shame our choice Bagan wasn't one of them as he ran poorly and cost another 1 point loss.
A total of 1 & 1/2 points loss for today, as luckily we didn't get involved too heavily.
There are always other days and patience will see us through!!
