Two really well handicapped horses on past form.......
HAYDOCK 5.25 ... PRINCE NAMID @ 25/1 INGLEBY ARCH @ 11/1
The 1st horse to catch the attention here was Stanley Goodspeed who I made a selection last time out, but watching the replay of that contest the one who could possibly have won it was Ingleby Arch!
Ingleby Arch took a while to warm to the task and was making great inroads when eventual 8th 'Chosen One' took his ground and he was nearly stopped to a walk, only to come home in his own time when the winner had gone. Beaten only 2.5 length at the finish
With the stalls in the centre he should get a clearer run on the outside form the 3 box and with previous form on soft and the ability to handle Southwells slower surface he should get away with it here.
David Nicholls runs top weight Legal Eagle, and he ran really well last time out to his (90 rated) stablemate Machinist who won for us.
His other runner at the foot of the handicap could easily win this if galvanised by the move to the sprint maestro.
Prince Namid has winning form here on heavy going beating 95 rated rivals in a Class2 handicap.
That was a few years back and though no real history of going well fresh is too well H/capper to leave out of calculations. He was winning that contest off 15lb higher than today when trained by Anne Duffield, and had ran off marks 24lb higher than today at his best.
I am tempted to put him as a larger stake selection but for the fact it is his 1st run of the season so will Err on the side of caution, but Dandy Nicholl's can get them ready and off 8St 7lb on going he is sure to handle he looks a winner waiting to happen.
Ingleby Arch 1 point
Prince Namid 1/2 point E/W

The 2nd to look well in is........
BEVERLEY 2.15 MESBAAH 1 Pt @ 8/1 Generally
Another stable at the top of their game is Richard Fahey who's Mesbaah looks thrown in on his best.
Won his maiden here on good going by 6 lengths and was given a OR of 95 for the trouble.
He was stepped up to Listed class his very next outing and also up in trip.
Since moving from the Jarvis stable and resuming his career last spring his rating had dropped 23lb having been running mostly in Class2 events since.
Twice last year he ran here off 11lb higher finishing around a 1 length 2nd place both times at a mile, and though they were on better going does handle a bit of cut.
He was given a good blow out at York over 12fl where he led until the last 2fl and this drop to 7fl looks a move in the right direction.
If adopting those tactics again he will be the one to catch as his stamina should see him through and with that run under the belt should strip fitter this time round.
Mesbaaah 1 point
