BRIGHTON 4.55 ... H HARRISON @ 8/1 Lads ... 15/2 S.James B.O.G.
A few bits of deadwood in here who haven't looked up to the job in weaker company and the race looks to be between 4 runners for me.
Convince has won on firm but only a Seller at this trip and doesn't live up to his name.
Hennessy Island has been slowly away most starts and ran his best at Southwell so there has to be a real doubt about this fast ground, but gets a nice low weight however and a market move may give expectations to his chances.
Poca a Poca has struggled so far and trainer has done the same this season with no winners on the board, and this one is rated 14lb inferior to Millfield Dreams who was a place in front of Punching last time out..
Lord Deevert and Maggie Kate look better at 5-6 furlongs.
Punching is 3lb worse off than when 2.5 length behind H Harrison at Catterick in April and is half the price ??? so should from a handicapping perspective finish even further adrift today.
The 4....
Wrighty Almighty has a 5lb pull with Mr Fantozi from last time out here for the 2.25 deficit, and has won here albeit in a lesser contest off 5lb lower, and on the revised terms there shouldn't be much between the 2 again and they should be staying on when the rest are done.
Pragamtist won this last year off 4lb lower but that was on soft going and faces stronger opposition this time, but should get every assistance from the saddle.
H Harrison has ran 3 times here in the past, the 1st off top weight in a sprint when staying on.
The second time he finished a 3 length 3rd here in a class4 to rivals rated 13lb higher.
The last time he finished a neck 2nd place off 5lb higher in a class5.
H Harrison has the cheekpieces tried today as he has other front runners to take him on so it should keep his mind on the job.
He is proven over the distance and on good/firm going, but considering he takes a drop into this grade for the 1st time ever on turf off 1lb lower than all his successes on the grass, (where he was racing off 21 lb higher at his peak) he gets the win vote as he should have too much class for these.
H Harrison 1 point
minus 1 point

One to Watch:
LINGFIELD 3.00 ... QUAESTOR @ 6/1
Interesting Tom Dascombe uses 5lb claimer Ross Atkinson for this Colt's debut run as on breeding it may want a little further but the weight offset may help!
Update: And more intersting is that stable jockey Richard Kingscote goes to Beverley for 1 ride on Don't Tell Mary in the 7.20 contest. Likely to be too short for my liking around 2/1 to 9/4
Won @ 11/4
