The 1st of yesterday's selection's, Jewelled Dagger seemed to be running away with it and went off too fast in my opinion. They came home spread apart like lamp posts but ours went out like a light.
Cute Ass missed the break slightly and was rushed up to stay in touch and led until the final furlong, but was soon brushed aside by eventual winner Rothesay Dancer who was given a confident ride by Kelly Harrison, and the 17lb difference this mare was getting from Cute Ass was the deciding factor.
City of The Kings could have been a lot closer had he made his move earlier and went down around 1/2 length at the end, but the E/W suggested was the right call for this 1st run of the Year and a slight gain of 0.3 point profit on the day.
