NOTTINGHAM 2.30 SOUNDBYTE @ 8/1
The one from the field who has been running in this grade regularly is Soundbyte, who ran a great race last season behind the 83 rated Wells Lyrical, which stands out in the context of this as he failed by only 3/4 length with previous 70 plus rated rivals behind.
Never went well at York last time but had ran two sound races earlier in better races than this. Has dropped 2lb in the interim and only twice out the first 3 in his last 10 outings and handles most ground.
Favourite Murcar won well last time out but is 8lb higher after beating rivals rated around 70 at best and has to concede weight all round.
Rare Ruby drops in trip after running well over 2 mile and plus her last 6 outings and would rate a bigger threat than Monte Pattino who takes a leap up the ladder.

1 To Watch this afternoon..
NEWBURY 2.10 BOUGGIE DAZE @ 11/1
Clive Cox has his team in good form and this one was running well at the end of last season. She was only beaten around 2.5 length behind 1000 Guinea's contender Penny's Gift on her final outing when staying on over the 6fl trip.
Previously over 7fl she had raced wide and didn't show her true running but had went well at Salisbury last summer at 7fl, again when staying on best at the finish.
Early season 3Yr Old races though are a tricky medium so we can watch this for the future.
TONIGHT:
HAYDOCK 7.50 JILLY WHY @ 28/1 Skybet, 25/1 Coral & BlueSQ, 20/1 Others
Jilly Why was hit with a 10lb rise in the ratings (to 85) for winning at Thirsk by 3.5 length last summer and was running off 19lb higher last May.
Her trainer has followed a similar route this year as last, having run her on the All Weather before returning to turf, and she is lower in the weights this time round.
She has now dropped to 66 which is 9lb lower than that last success.
Her win previous to that was in a fast ground Nottingham H/cap off 4lb higher than today which makes her of interest here.
She was giving Racoon 7lb in that event and had him nearly 1 length behind yet today gets 6lb (jockeys claim taken into account) so is 10lb to the good and 5 times the price!!
Considering Racoon broke the track record there in April this year she must have enjoyed the fast pace and there looks to be plenty on here on both sides.
Racoon drawn alongside likes to make the running so she should get a good tow along and with the stalls in the middle of the track there should be no excuses for her keeping out of trouble.
She ran here last season and lost all chance at the start when slipping coming out the gates where she was market favourite, and meets both Cape Royal and Bahamian Ballet on 2lb and 8lb better respectively from that contest.
She looked to have lost her way at the end of the turf season yet had 2 bad draws at Chester, and was beaten less than 3 length her final grass run where she had Speedy Senorita's latest conqueror Toy Top in arrears.
A return to grass with blinkers tried could be the tonic to wake her up and well treated to take advantage.

ReplyDelete/Rob
Wish I had read it like you Rob!
ReplyDeleteWell done though if you backed it as I did say it was the bigger danger, and I suppose at the prices could have backed both for a +3.5 point return but I was on the Nose :(
How can i place this bet: Racoon 1/2 point F/C ?? Forecast 1st, 2nd or Any and only Racoon or how is it mean ? Don't knowthis betting method
ReplyDeleteThe suggestion is for Jilly Why to win with Racoon to be 2nd place.
ReplyDeleteIE:
1st. Jilly Why
2nd. Racoon
Which is a Forecast bet. Hope this helps!
Most online bookmakers will take these bets.
ReplyDeleteIf you use the Exchanges I beleive they will only take F/C bets on certain races!
