WOLVERHAMPTON 3.15 BOND CITY 1 pt E/W @ 33/1 PP, Boyles, SJ, Coral, WillHill
Prescription looks real short in the betting @ 8/11 for beating an 85 rated rival Gillani by 3.25 length last time, considering Gillani was around the same distance behind Mutamared and Baby Strange at Kempton in April and they are trading in double figures.
There has to be value elsewhere, and Something who is drawn wide, was a consideration who is unbeaten on the all weather (at 7fl) as is Aroundthebay (at Kempton) but neither have ran here and both are off higher marks.
Lucivious looks to be held by Princess Valerina who is also on her highest mark stepping up in grade and her trainer believes she will be better for the run.
Baunagain is 8lb higher than struggling at Kempton in a weaker race last October and Jaconet is now 16lb higher than winning a lesser race here in March.
Hurricane Spirit has dropped 12lb in the last 2 seasons but hasn't won in over 3 yrs.
Xpress Maite is 2lb better than the selection but has a 2.5 length deficit to make up.
That leaves Bond City who only had 5 runs on the All Weather winning his 1st here over 5fl as a 2 Yr Old and followed up at Lingfield over 5fl the same month that Year.
Joined this stable on a high of 103 and now racing off 89 today.
Could be argued he's regressive but only been on the all weather twice in the last 2 seasons.
Last time out here he ran a blinder from off the pace having been held up from a wide draw and passed all but the winner from the final bend who had first run on the field.
Today back in a low berth he has an ideal opportunity to make the running as when successful on his only other run here.
There is plenty pace on his inside so will need the gaps should he be taken on for the lead but Jockey has 2 wins and a place from 9 rides on the gelding so should be familiar with him.
A competitive race but at the odds looks worthy of an E/W wager with the opportunity to trade out in running
