NEWCASTLE 8.25 ... THE OSTEOPATH @ 6/1
Eton Rifles looks short in the betting for beating 60 plus rated rivals of which none have won since.
Dabbers Ridge has dropped quite a bit in the ratings and @ 12/1 could be worth a bet but I like The Osteopath @ 6/1 as he has a liking for a straight track and has better form on softer going.
He should stay on the going having form at a mile and he was 2nd here last June to Redford off 3lb lower in a Class 2 H/cap, and twice ran off top weight at Ayr on soft/heavy and didnt get the best of runs.
Slightly higher than his last win but 10 of his 35 outings has been placed or won on soft going at the straighter tracks.
Is drawn high but has a history of hanging right and could go for the false rail on the stands side to help, and Borosco will ensure a good pace drawn alongside.
This represents a drop in class from his last 3 outings and worthy of a 1 point wager.
Putting my neck on the line (again) I would say
1st. The Osteopath
2nd. Either Borasco or Dabbers Ridge
plus 6 points
