RIPON 3.40 ... CARANBOLA E/W @ 20/1 ... Or place @ 4/1 or more Betfair
Mel Brittains filly would have a good chance here if running to the form of her Two-year-old Trophy effort but is taking on her elder females, and though handling most ground has ran 3 very good races here all on the soft side of good.
Beaten only 1/2 length on her debut here she then won her next start at this track by 2.5 lengths.
She ran in good company in the likes of the Weatherbys Super Sprint before winning a 6fl Haydock fillies stakes contest where she had subsequent Flying Childers Stakes (group 2) winner Madame Top Vite in arrears.
Forgiving her return outing where her run was too bad to be true, and having recorded her best efforts on softer going she may have found the firm ground against her.
The same could be said of her runs in the 2Yr Old Trophy beaten less than 3 length, yet those in front that day have all ran well since off marks in the low 100's.
Total Gallery franked the form in no uncertain terms winning 1st time out in the Pavilion Stakes at Ascot beating 110 rated rivals, and a line through (the 4th) Khor Dubai brings recent Class2 h/cap winners Palace Moon and Advanced into the picture making the form look strong.
The draw doesn't really figure too much here on softer going but those able to handle conditions/trip are paramount, so the fact she has shown her ability to handle the slight uphill finish here and a liking for soft ground makes her worthy of a small stakes interest at the price.
The fact her elders have more experience we will limit stakes to a 1/2 pt E/W or 1 pt place if 4/1 or more on betfair!

RIPON 3.10 EXIT SMILING @ 10/1 S.James B.O.G
Is 6lb higher than last win here but handles the conditions really well and looks a 10lb better horse on soft going.
Has 13lb pull with Charlie Tipple from their last encounter who looks the main danger on my ratings.
Was drawn 'wrong' side when beaten by Webbow, who's best is on quicker going than likely to get here and he looks weighted to his best.
Tanto Faz could improve in only his 2nd season handicapping as he had the well regarded Presvis well beaten last year in the good ground maiden he won, but needed his 1st outing last year and hopefully will do so again.
Exit Smiling has however finished a staying on 2nd on heavy going off 5lb higher than today so should find this within his capabilities of this mark
