WINDSOR 7.20
Phantom Whisper was an intended selection (4th Aug) last time out in a Class 6 Chepstow Handicap over 7 furlongs where I thought he stood a real chance but the meeting was abandoned.
He drops back to 6fl tonight which he is arguably better at and I can see him running well as he has done in this grade in the past, but this Class 3 looks a much stronger contest and is passed over for the win purpose in what looks a tricky race to call.
He will be more interesting taking a drop in class.
A No Bet Race
The one who could go better than odds suggest is Princess Valerina @ 25/1.
She has only raced 4 times at this trip on turf when encountering soft going. Her previous attempts she was 2nd here in her very 1st outing then won a Newmarket Stakes race both as a 2 Yr Old.
Then she stepped up to 7fl and a mile without success until she dropped back to 6fl on soft when winning her final start for Henry Cecil.
Since joining this yard she has been running consistently well on the All Weather, before returning to turf in 2 (Listed) 6fl contests where she was basically outclassed.
Firstly on gd/firm then last time out the going was more on the heavy side than soft.
Her final All Weather outing she had Red Cape (recent conqueror of VikingSpirit/Bel Cantor) just under 3 length behind giving him 11lb, and if the return to this grade on soft ground is what she wants then she could be able to defy her current odds of 25/1
