Tw*tful Day :(
HAYDOCK 2.10 ANSELLS PRIDE 1 pt E/W @ 40/1BlueSQ, 25/1 VC.Skybet 20/1 Others
First port of call was Flipando who's track record here is 2,1,3,3,2, with the last 3 runs over this trip when off top weight or 1lb under.
There isn't much between Flipando (2nd) and The Osteopath (won , 3lb worse for a length) from their Newcastle encounter, yet The Osteopath finished 2.25 length behind Ansells Pride in the Thirsk Hunt Cup in May, and though looking to have improved since is now 13lb higher than him today.
A line through Raptor/Angel Rock should give Flipando and The Osteopath the edge over him.
Of the younger generation, Lowther looks the most progressive and had lost his race before the start last time when saddled up early and burnt himself out before going to post.
Ansells Pride last victory came here when making all off 3lb higher last season after a shocking run at Beverley, which he has just done again after missing the break, and a return to this venue could be the ticket to another strong run.
This is a better contest but the ability is definitely there as he beat Regal Parade last season, who was rated 16lb his superior at the time and is now running/winning off marks another 16lb higher again.
Regal Parade was 2nd on his very next outing in last season's Thirsk Hunt Cup, beating The Osteopath and Flipando by 6 & 12 lengths respectively.
Ansells Pride has a commendable strike having won 3 from 8 at this distance from a total of 10 outings on grass.
His draw on the outside is the one negative but many are hold up horses so he will need to break on terms and get a good early pitch.
Obviously that is factored into the price, and though capable to win this off this mark he will need the breaks and some luck in running, so an E/W the call.

REDCAR 2.35 PRIDE OF KINGS @ 9/1 Bet365,PP, 8/1 Others
Was totally ran out of it last time out against much higher rated rivals, but ran a good race the time before taking on his elders (2nd horse rated 97).
Possibly he got the run of the race in that 4 runner field but the 1st two were 3.5 length clear. The 4th horse Summer Gold has placed 2nd with a 2 times subsequent winner Honimiere behind, then won his last outing and goes for the Totescoop6 Class2 Heritage Handicap against favourite Dancourt today.
Greg Fairley aboard for all his 3 wins and 3 of the 5 career places and when teaming up with Johnson here they have won with 4 of the last 6 runners at Redcar.
Motafarred ran a cracking race behind Exit Smiling latest and although 3lb worse than when 2 places in front of Observatory Star (hampered) in the Carlisle Bell in June I think he will uphold the form.
Emirates Sports is the hardest to fathom with only 4 runs to his credit but he beat 2 time winner Dancourt over 6fl at Great Leighs yet has to prove himself on grass having disappointed both runs to date..
The race that stands out for the chances of Pride Of Kings, is when chasing home Mister Dee Bee at Leicester when he was completing the hat trick of wins before going on to a respectable run in the Blue Square Heritage Handicap behind Firebet.
That form looks the strongest of what these have contested, and though still value to get a return for a place I feel an all or nothing bet.
